Daisy at 6 months old

Feedback from Daisy's owner:

Congratulations!! If the new puppies are even half as wonderful as my Daisy, they will make some people VERY happy doodle owners! I have attached some fairly recent pictures—one of her with my friend Mike, several of her hiking with us upstate (she is a GREAT hiker and swimmer), and one with my year-old nephew, Finn. I put that one in the mix because it really best illustrates her personality---there aren’t too many six month old puppies who would be trusted face-to-face with a little toddler in the grass like that. But Daisy is possibly the gentlest dog I have ever encountered. I honestly have never even heard her growl! Two weeks ago she came with me to visit our school’s summer camp in Lake Placid. There were 40 screaming middle school girls crowded around her, and she just wagged her tail, let everyone scratch her belly, and played catch with the girls. I think she may be a frequent visitor to my school in the fall!

She has overcome a lot of her early shyness; in fact, I would say she is not at all shy about meeting new people anymore—she loves everyone. I had her professionally groomed for the first time last week, and the groomer is absolutely in love with her, as is everyone at the vet’s office. I also had her spayed last Thursday---wanted to be sure she was fully recuperated by the time I go back to school in September. When I picked her up at the vet, she said that normally dogs are snappy and cranky when the anesthesia wears off, but Daisy just wagged her tail and licked the vet’s hand!

She is still a very calm dog (which is wonderful!), and is still a bit timid about new situations, but has overcome her shyness to get into some wonderfully comic puppy mischief at times. She loves to shred paper towels and napkins :-) Last week, she figured out where the paper towel roll was on my kitchen counter, jumped up and grabbed the end. Well, she wasn’t expecting that the entire roll would unravel when she ran away with it, and she got so scared that she dropped the whole thing and ran into her crate and put her head down. I was laughing so hard I couldn’t correct her!

She is so smart—has totally mastered sit, down, crawl, paw, and is starting to get “roll over.” She also does “hug” and “kiss” on command to people who I know won’t mind it (well, and occasionally without a command to people who do mind---but we are working on that :-) She has been perfectly housebroken since the moment I got her (thanks to you!), and has walked well on a lead from the beginning also. She still sleeps in her crate at night, but I have pretty much stopped crating her when I go out for short periods during the day. There really is no need---she is such a good dog!

I just cannot tell you what a huge blessing she is in my life—I just adore her! Thank you, Linda! And good luck with the new litter!

Daisy had the additional one month of puppy training before going home. She was the submissive puppy in the litter and has just the perfect home for her. I am very happy with how well the trained pups adjust to their new environments.

Rosie had two months of additional training before going to her new family in California. Her new owner plans to have her eventually become a Therapy Dog, so we did some intial training with that prospect in mind. See a video of Rosie on an outing, getting to know lots of new people.

Rosie went home at 4 months old.

Feedback from her owner in California:

Rosie is Amazing! She is clearly super bright and learns very quickly. She instantly becomes everyone's best friend, especially the kids. We love having her in our family. Thank you so much!!

Brady - Male - Born 2/10/2009 - ADOPTED

Brady Tomas at 6 months old.

Here's what Brady's owner had to say:

He is a great dog. He and I are having a great time. He is a wonderful companion. He has a really great personality and wins the heart of people that get to know him. I am so happy that I took the plunge and decided to get a dog.

ADOPTED

Riley - Male - Born 2/10/2009 - ADOPTED

Click here to see a video of Riley meeting the rubber chicken.

Riley had the one month additional training and went home to Florida at 3 months old.

At six months old, Riley fills the loveseat! What a LOVE!

Riley - Age 6 months

Feedback from Riley's owner:

He is a love and is never not by my side, or front or back, except for when I am at work. He had his first grooming and the vet loved him. He is growing in leaps and bounds. He likes to drink water from the faucet in my bathroom…and he loves the rain – it is really hard to get him in – the heavier the downpour the more he runs around. His front paws are always dirty – he is all boy and I love him.

ADOPTED

Barney - Male - Born 2/10/2009 - ADOPTED

Barney at six months. Barney and Dixie (Miel) were adopted by the same family so look for their feedback below.

ADOPTED

Dixie (was Miel) - Female - Born 2/10/2009 - ADOPTED

Dixie was adopted along with her brother Barney. They are part of a large family with lots of children. Here's what the Mom had to say:

I wanted to thank you for helping us pick Dixie and Barney (he was so much more a Barney than a Willie). They bring us joy every day and are the perfect family dogs. They just fit right in. I have not taken the time to train them like I would like but we are getting there! The best personalities and they really complement each other, mostly because Barney will take whatever Dixie dishes out- he is just really laid back and we love them both!

People can't tell which dog is which at first but their personalities are so totally different that it doesn't take long to figure out that Dixie like to run the show, but she is also a great snuggler. Barney is my buddy, he follows me everywhere I go ( which I love) and they are both incredibly tolerant of the kids, from head to tail, they aren't bothered by any pulling or loving! Thanks again for everything and I 'd be happy to be a reference if you need one!
